Having been fans of musician and seemingly all-round legend TYSON for a while, we’re delighted to shed light on her new single ‘Jumpstart’. Now signed to LuckyMe, following a string of releases via Ladies Music Pub, an innovative collective of marginalised people in music, which was co-founded by TYSON herself, ‘Jumpstart’ marks an exciting new chapter in her career. Opening to rippling lo-fi house chords, TYSON’s husky vocals take centre stage, before thick sub bass and dizzying beats circle the subtle melodies. Punctuated by blissed out delays and reverb-soaked percussion, with the odd bleep of an instantly recognisable Roland 808, there’s similarities to be drawn between this cooly experimental cut and Kelela’s 2023 masterpiece Raven. She explains, "‘JUMPSTART‘ is about being able to look at yourself while laughing.
